“Elemental Things” Free afternoon concert of poetry with Bath Cafe Poets at BRSLI, Queen Square Bath. October 6th.

I attended and read at the 100,000 Poets for Change event in Bath yesterday. This was just one of 800 events being held on the same day across the world and felt very exciting to be a part of. Martyn Crucefix has agreed to judge Poetry Space Competition 2013.The 2013 competition will be the fourth for Poetry Space and the profits will continue to help in bringing new and lesser known poets to recognition.Prize money for 2013 will increase to £250 (1st prize).

First Prize goes to Karen Harvey. The competition was judged by poet and novelist Cheryl Moskowitz who said that judging the competition was a “highly rewarding and challenging experience”.

100,000 Poets for change. Events will be taking place all over the world on Saturday 29th September.

Bath Cafe poets will open the event with a half hour slot.

Down the plughole is a collection of poems for children teamed up with fantastic illustrations.

Yesterday marked the first Poetry Space writing day of the year, Finding a Voice with Like It Is author Philip Lyons. This was a great success with participants including myself inspired by Philip to try out new voices.
